Lieserl Einstein was the first child of renowned physicist Albert Einstein and his first wife, Mileva Marić. She was born in January 1902 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Not much is known about Lieserl as she lived a very short life. After her birth, she was raised by her mother's family in Serbia while Albert Einstein was still studying and working in Switzerland. There are no known photographs of Lieserl, and very few letters or documents mention her existence.
It is believed that Lieserl might have had some form of disability or health issue, as her parents referred to her as "our little clump of ailments" in their letters. Unfortunately, Lieserl's fate remains a mystery, as there are no records of her after 1903. Some theories suggest that she may have died of scarlet fever or been given up for adoption due to societal pressures around illegitimate children at the time.
Despite the lack of information about Lieserl Einstein, she remains a poignant figure in the life of one of the greatest scientists of all time.
